Peer Group Sharing
Peer Group sharing with a trained facilitator is that it provides a venue where members can go and talk about their recovery as well as any problems they experience along the way. This type of sharing can be highly therapeutic. If the individual who is doing the talking has built a successful recovery then can inspire other members. It is one of the main reasons why people continue going to the meetings even though they have been sober for many years.
Group Therapy forms one of the vital links in our treatment process.
A Psycho-educational Group is a specific type of group therapy that focuses on educating clients about their particular disorders and the ways that they can cope with problems related to their disorder.
Many substance abuse recovery patients are in denial of their issues, so the moderated group therapy works well for discussing problem issues that are shared by many or all people in the group. There is an air of trust among people with common problems, which helps to facilitate discussion.
The first step towards recovering from alcoholism is to admit to the problem. Addicts are often brilliant at convincing themselves they don't have a problem or that they're doing everything they possibly can to fight it.
These are all examples of ways an alcoholic or an addict might try to justify their actions. However, these patterns of thought are unhealthy and may make an alcoholic more likely to continue inflicting damage on himself. Counseling helps in tackling patterns of thinking and behaviour in an attempt to break certain emotional or psychological ties to habitual behaviours. Our trained and experienced clinical psychologists, Counsellors provide the professional support and guidance that struggling alcoholics need to turn their lives around .
